ecr: Housekeeping services will begin in 40 train pairs | Patna News

Patna: The East Central Railway (ECR) has introduced ‘On Board Servicing Services’ (OBHS) in 40 pairs of mail and express trains from various stations under its five divisions. The purpose of introducing this facility is to keep the coaches neat and clean during the trip.
According to ECR Public Relations Manager (CPRO), Birendra Kumar, top notch trains like Patna-New Delhi Tejas Rajdhani Express, Patna-New Delhi-Sampoorna Kranti Express, Patna-New Delhi Shramjeevi Express, the Patna-Lokmanya Tilak Mumbai Express and several others have an OBHS facility.
“The railways have deployed a supervisor on each train to closely monitor cleanliness in the cars,” CPRO said.
Likewise, all other mail and express trains originating or passing through Samastipur, Sonepur, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya and Dhanbad divisions have been provided with OBHS facilities. “We also get feedback from passengers on the quality of meals served as well as cleanliness,” he said.
In addition, the railways have launched a mechanized cleaning system in 35 stations in the ECR. Nine stations including Patna Junction, Rajendra Nagar Terminal, Patliputra Junction, Patna Sahib, Ara, Mokama, Bakhtiarpur, Jamui and Kiul under Danapur division and Sonepur, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Barauni, Begusarai, Khagaria and Mansi under Sonepur division already have the mechanized cleaning system.
“In Samastipur division, mechanized cleaning is available at Samastipur, Darbhanga, Jaynagar, Madhubani, Saharsa, Raxaul, Narkatiaganj and Bapudham Motihari stations while Gaya, Sasaram, Anugraha Narayan Road and Pt. mechanized cleaning under Pt. Division Deen Dayal Upadhyaya,” Kumar said.
